TAG Heuer & Gulf Oil International signed a partnership!
The global partnership with Gulf Oil International will lead to the development of new activities and new watch-editions.
The first one ist the TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf which was presented on the occasion of the signing of the global partnership.
With the immediately recognisable famous blue and orange stripes, Gulf has been a well-known player in the automotive industry for over 115 years. It was the first company to drill for oil below the sea, and in 1913, became the first in the world to open a petrol station.
TAG Heuer and Gulf have crossed paths already several times, but the most notable was in 1971, in the film “Le Mans”, when Steve McQueen wore a Heuer Monaco on his wrist while driving a Porsche 917 that featured the Gulf logo…

Have a quick look at the yesterdays results of the Phillips auction of the ‘The Crosthwaite & Gavin Collection consisting of exceptional Heuer Chronographs from the Jack Heuer Era’ in Geneva.
The results in fact underline what Phillips auctioneer and senior consultant Aurel Bacs and I talked about last Thursday afternoon in Geneva.
I really hope you already had the time to listen to our conversations!
I think in the future we will have to monitor what will happen with Heuer vintage chronographs more closely.
The good question now is: Which vintage-watches of which brand are skyrocketing next? Breitling?
What you will discover here is tantamount to a palace revolution!
With its “Defy Lab” Zenith is the brand to present the new revolutionary oscillator – a monolithic regulating organ made out of silicon – of the LVMH Watch Division Research & Development Department.
It is made out of monocrystalline silicon, including details finer than a human hair and it replaces the sprung balance.
The 31 components of a standard Swiss lever escapement, measuring usually 5 mm or more, which require assembly, adjustment, timing, testing and lubrication, are completely replaced by a single element measuring just 0.5 mm thick.
I invite you to learn all you need to know with plenty of EXCLUSIVE pictures and videos and of course with my interviews.
I talked to Guy Sémon the brain and driving force behind the development of the new monolithic regulating organ made out of silicon and I talked to Thomas Mercier, who is a member of Guy´s Research & Development team in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
It is only today the world premiere of the new oscillator. But everything you will discover here I was already able to discover last week. So I was able to put this comprehensive article together for you. Enjoy!
