This authentic steel look enriches the Heritage Black Bay collection! The overall shape, as well as the domed dial and crystal, come from the first Tudor divers’ watches. The prominent winding crown and the red triangle of the bezel are features of the famous reference 7924 from 1958, the first Tudor watch to be waterproof to 200 metres, dubbed the Big Crown.

Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Auto Chrono

Baselworld 2017: Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Auto Chrono

When Hamilton in 1968 presented its “Chronograph A” with black subdials on a white dial, and its “Chronograph B” with two white subdials lying against a black background, creating a “reverse panda” face, the chronographs perfectly reflected the type of dial design that was very popular in the 1960s and 1970s. WQe are in the year 2017 now and I predict that the Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Auto Chrono will today perhaps have more fans than ever before …

Baselworld 2017: Breitling Navitimer Rattrapante Calibre B03

With its two superimposed central chronograph hands, of which one can be stopped, by pushing the push-piece being integrated in the crown, so as to measure an intermediate (split) time, before “catching up” (= rattraper in French), by again pushing the push-piece being integrated in the crown, with the first one still sweeping onwards, the split-seconds chronograph is considered one of the most sophisticated watchmaking mechanisms to create.
