X-TREM-1 Red Gold and Black PVD Titanium by Christophe Claret
The "X-TREM-1 Red Gold and Black PVD Titanium" is is from Christophe Claret's "X-TREM-1" collection. This timepiece is limited to 8 pieces. The Watch features a openwork dial and is encased in a red gold and black pvd titanium case. This piece is a men's watch. The rectangular case is 46.4mm wide, 26.6mm long, 11.9mm thick and water tight up to approximately 30 meters water depth (3 bar). A transparent case back allows to admire the movement.
The watch's functions are provided by a hand-wound Christophe Claret FLY11 mechanical caliber which has a power reserve of 50 hours and indicators for hours (retrograde), minutes (retrograde) and seconds (off-centered). As regulating organ, the movement has a flying tourbillon which causes the balance wheel and the escapement to rotate slowly. In the days of pocket watches, the tourbillon increased the accuracy of the watch by preventing the minute components from working with or against the gravity for a prolonged period of time. Today, the complication mostly serves an aethetic and emotional purpose and is a testament of the manufacturer's watchmaking abilities.
The case comes on a black alligator (rubberized) strap with a red gold folding clasp.
