The new Frederique Constant Classic Tourbillon Manufacture honors the finest traditions of watchmaking art right down to the very last detail. The case is made from 18 carat rose gold, a precious metal that has always been reserved solely for Manufacture limited editions. This model will be no exception: just 150 watches will be made, each one individually numbered. Previously offered in a 42 mm diameter, all Classic Manufacture timepieces will now be housed in a 39 mm case in a new style featuring modern, harmonious curves, for maximum comfort on the wrist.
Today, the Frederique Constant manufacture boasts a high degree of integration, with no fewer than 30 calibers developed in-house. We do show them all in the our video. One of these is its tourbillon, fitted with a silicon escapement wheel and anchor. This design choice allows owners to benefit from a non-magnetic movement unaffected by variations in temperature, thus helping to ensure the watch stays accurate, in keeping with the original vocation of the tourbillon.

Since its creation, Frederique Constant has capitalised on the expertise of its Geneva-based manufacture. It’s here, in the birthplace of watchmaking, that the Frederique Constant Worldtimer FC-718 calibre was designed, produced and assembled. It has become a movement of its time: modern, precise and reliable, not to mention tried and tested. Being featured at the forefront of the Highlife collection is a first and represents a major turning point for the Brand. The self-winding FC-718 mechanical movement has a power reserve of 38 hours. It is visible through the case back, water-resistant up to 50 metres. One can admire the typical Genevan finishes that Frederique Constant is so fond of, perlage and circular Côtes de Genève among them.

The Highlife Gents models have a 41 mm case, available in various materials. The lack of horns allows for greater flexibility and helps the watch sit naturally on the wrist. The integrated design is infinitely more complicated to conceive than any strap with horns. The process requires perfect continuity between the lines of the case and the links, a smooth, regular but gradual transition to the clasp and natural fluidity that should be almost imperceptible.

From the very beginning, as far back as 1883, Alpina has been associated with horological innovation. Whether it was our innovative way of creating an excellent working environment, or through the introduction of new quality control criteria before anyone else, Alpina has always sought ways to improve how things are done.
Through strict adherence to these principles and properties, the legendary “Alpina 4” watches became the timekeeper of choice for Alpinists, air force pilots, divers, the navy and the military.
In all domains where absolute reliability was critical to accomplish a mission, an “Alpina 4” became the mainstay of reliable timekeeping.

The ongoing adherence to the truly innovative “Alpina 4” manufacturing requirements saw the company achieve unparalleled success until the 1970s, when the so-called “Quartz Crisis” made a heavily negative impact on Swiss mechanical watchmakers.

In the 1920s, Alpina was already being sold in over 2,000 outlets worldwide, an exceptional figure for those days. It is no exaggeration to say that Alpina was one of the first leading manufacturers of Swiss watches.

Today, the ideals and innovation upon which Alpina was founded are still alive in our Geneva manufacture, where we make professional sport watches to the most exacting horological standards.
