Chapter One Round Transparence Red Gold by Maîtres du Temps
The "Chapter One Round Transparence Red Gold" is part of Maîtres du Temps's "Chapter One" watch family. Production of the watch is limited to 11 pieces. It features a sapphire dial and a red gold case. This timepiece was designed for men. The round case is 62mm wide, 59mm long and 22mm thick. The transparent case back makes it possible to admire the movement.
The watch is driven by a hand-wound Maîtres du Temps SHC02.1 mechanical caliber running with a power reserve of 60 hours and displays for hours, minutes and seconds (off-centered). With the display for the time in a second time zone, the user can keep track of local and home time while being away from home. It offers the useful chronograph (commonly known as a "stopwatch") function to measure the duration of an event. The measured duration can be read with a seconds hand. The calendar shows day of the week, date and moon phase. As regulating organ, the caliber relies on a tourbillon which causes the balance wheel and the escapement to rotate slowly. In the days of pocket watches, the tourbillon increased the accuracy of the watch by preventing the minute components from working in the same orientation for a prolonged period of time. Today, the tourbillon mostly serves an aethetic and emotional purpose and is a testament of the manufacturer's watchmaking abilities. Other features of the watch: moon phases on roller.
The watch is worn with a black alligator leather strap with a red gold folding clasp.
