ROLEX GMT-Master II Pepsi. Alex’ Tidbits… How to get the REAL STUFF and not be stalked.

@ROLEX

There is no way around the CROWN. But when 2020 meets 1993 the things turn upside-down. How to get the REAL STUFF and not be stalked…

Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 126710BLRO (launched 2018 / bought 2020)
Rolex uses Oystersteel for its steel watch cases. Specially developed by the brand, Oystersteel belongs to the 904L steel family, alloys most commonly used in high-technology and in the aerospace and chemical industries, where maximum resistance to corrosion is essential. Oystersteel is extremely resistant, offers an exceptional finish once polished and maintains its beauty even in the harshest environments.
This version of the GMT-Master II is fitted with a Jubilee bracelet. Supple and comfortable, the five-piece link Jubilee bracelet was specially created for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust model in 1945. The Jubilee bracelet on this model is equipped with a Rolex-designed and -patented Oysterlock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening. It also features the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by the brand, which allows the bracelet length to be increased by approximately 5 mm. A concealed attachment system ensures seamless visual continuity between the bracelet and case.
The calibre 3285, a new-generation movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. With 10 patent applications filed over the course of its development, this movement features a Chronergy escapement and a guaranteed power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3285 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. The GMT-Master II is certified as a Superlative Chronometer (= Official COSC + tough and rigid internal Rolex certification after casing).
The 3285 is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring, offering greater resistance to shocks and to temperature variations. Its architecture, in common with all Oyster watch movements, makes it singularly reliable.

The ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL GMT-MASTER was launched in 1955, at a time when intercontinental travel was experiencing a rapid expansion. It even became the official watch of Pan American World Airways – better known as Pan Am – then the most prominent American intercontinental airline. On the original 1955 model, the 24-hour graduated bezel insert was divided into two halves – one red, to correspond with daylight hours, and one blue, for night-time. Over the years, the insert has been made available in different colour combinations. Initially made from Plexiglas, it was replaced by anodized aluminium in 1959 and high-technology ceramic in 2005.On the original GMT-Master, the conventional hour hand, the minute hand and the 24-hour hand were synchronized. In 1982, Rolex introduced a new movement that allowed the hour hand to be set independently of the other hands.
