In 1957 Omega released its very first 'Railmaster' model.
60 years later the new Omega 'Railmaster' Co-Axial Master Chronometer follows the same simple and elegant design traits of the original, but with updated touches of style and one of the best mechanical movements available.
I would esteem that for Omega collectors and fans, this rerelease signals a long-awaited and exciting moment ...
Have a look and let me know what you think ....
The first Omega 'Railmaster' was built for railway staff or anyone who worked close to electrical fields. Shielded by an inner protective case, the watch was able to resist magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss, guaranteeing reliable precision for the wearer. By comparison, most antimagnetic watches at that time offered protection at only around 60 gauss.

Today, Omega is still one of the industry’s leading names in anti-magnetic innovation. The new Omega 'Railmaster' is 15 times more resistant than the original thanks to its Master Chronometer Calibre 8806.
As you all know a Master Chronometer is certified at the industry’s highest standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) and able to withstand magnetism of 15,000 gauss.

So the new 'Railmaster' model wonderfully recalls the superb anti-magnetic qualities of its predecessor.
The 40 mm fully brushed steel cases (Height 12,65 mm), waterproof up to 150 meters, houses the Omega Co-Axial Calibre 8806 certified as a Master Chronometer, offering a magnetic resistance > 15.000 Gauss. The 'Railmaster' has a steel dial and brushed stainless steel hands. They glow in blue color in darkness.
The 'Railmaster' is either sold with a textile or leather strap or a steel bracelet. Omega offers 4 years of warranty and you will have to pay 4500 CHF including 8% VAT for the version with textile or leather strap and 4600 CHF for the version with the steel bracelet. In my eyes the Omega 'Railmaster' Co-Axial Master Chronometer offers an incredible price-quality-ratio and it is VERY hard to compete with such an offer!
