A very good reason to present you the watch together with Sylvain Dolle, the CEO of Hamilton. The watch is not new, so it is not a premiere. The Intra-Matic Auto Chrono is a modern reworking of a 1969 signature timepiece. Combining authentic 1960s appeal with the Hamilton H-31 automatic chronograph movement with 60 hours of power reserve, its distinctive panda dial and this wonderful blue colored dial are a guaranteed eye-catcher.

Hamilton CEO Dolla presents the 33x36 mm Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical

One of the most popular watches was the so called "W10", which Hamilton produced between 1973 and 1976. The "W10" was mainly issued to pilots. The 2019 Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer is a re-edition of the "W10". The 33 x 36 mm stainless steel case (isn't this a good size for all of you seeking for a smaller watch?) is brushed to avoid unnecessary glare. The matt dial and box-shaped crystal with double anti-reflective coating also keep the readability up and reflections low. The Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer powered by the "H-50" hand-wound calibre with 80 hours of power reserve.

The new HAMILTON Chrono-Matic 50 presented by CEO Sylvain Dolla

It was a time of innovation and many brands succeeded in producing watches that have stood the test of time, serving as a base for further innovation. HAMILTON/Büren worked in partnership with other brands (Breitling, Heuer-Leonidas, Hamilton/Büren & Dubois Dépraz) to develop the caliber 11. The series of watches that featured the movement were grouped under the Chrono-Matic name. Let us also not forget Zenith with its El Primmer caliber. An evolution that propelled the watch industry forward into a new chapter in its history.

Talking to Walter von Känel, President Longines

He was appointed President of Longines in 1988. Walter von Känel is a member of the Extended Swatch Group Management Board since 1991 and as a member of the Extended Group Management Board responsible for Longines. This is in brief what you need to know about Walter von Känel, today being 78 years young, not old! In 2019 Walter celebrated his 50th anniversary working with Longines. Yes, the 50th anniversary! In October I met Walter and we talked about him, his time at Longines so far, about the novelties and how long with his 78 years he still plans to stay the President of Longines.

Hands-on: The Longines Heritage Military 1938

It is a beautiful, contemporary replica of a wristwatch sold to the Czech Army by Longines in 1938. The Heritage Military 1938 is powered by the 3 Hz (21.600 A/h), 36,6 mm ETA 6498/2 calibre with a power reserve of 53 hours - the former legendary Unitas pocket watch calibre. The domed sapphire crystal with multi-layered anti-reflective coating protects the matt black dial with its "baton"-style hands and its cream-colored Arabic numerals. The readability couldn't be better! The 43 mm steel case is waterproof up to 30 meters.
