On June 16th, 1927 Charles Lindbergh received in New York 25,000 USD from Raymond Orteig. He was awarded the sum for his non-stop flight between New York and Paris.
Lindbergh was navigating with the aid of the predecessor of the today so called Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch.
90 years later, Longines decides to celebrate this achievement by creating a 25,000 USD prize, awarded each year to an adventurer or pioneer who has achieved a feat in his field, all in the spirit of elegance and performance dear to the brand.
The award will be presented for the first time in New York on May 21, 2018, the anniversary of the arrival of the famous aviator in Paris.
Please let me know if you need more information! I will relay the information between Longines and you …
