In 2020 the Breguet Ref. 5887 now is available in a beautiful 18-carat rose gold case with slate-colored gold-dial. We already filmed the Ref. 5887 Marine Equation Marchante in January 2019. So this is not a new Breguet wristwatch.
Here is the link to the video we uploaded 14.01.2019: https://youtu.be/KxDV6qJ7G2I
Let me give you the essential technical information of the “new” Ref. 5887:
Price: 207.600 Euro including 19 % VAT
— 43.9 mm 18-carat rose gold case (lug to lug distance 49 mm), height 11.75 mm, waterproof 100 m
— Self-winding movement with Peripheral rotor: originally invented to save space, it was selected in this case to make the movement perfectly visible.
— Running equation of time allowing the simultaneous indication of the civil time and the true solar time by means of two separate minutes hands thus providing a direct reading of the solar time minutes (running solar hand adorned with a facetted golden sun), in contrast to the traditional equation of time where this reading is generally provided on a sector or subdial indicating the difference (from -16 to +14 minutes) which impose the user to mentally add or subtract the different displayed in relation to mean time in order to calculate true solar time.
— The equation cam reproduces the path of the sun’s successive positions, called an curve. Here, the equation cam is coaxial to the tourbillon carriage, supported by a transparent sapphire disc.
— Perpetual calendar whose information layout on the dial has been designed to ensure simple and intuitive linear reading.
— Tourbillon (patented in 1801 by Breguet) : carriage in titanium, “MARINE ROYALE” engraved on the bar.
