Royal Marine Chronometer White Gold by Jämes C. Pellaton
The "Royal Marine Chronometer White Gold" is a member of Jämes C. Pellaton's watch collection. This edition is limited to 12 pieces. The Watch features a dial in openwork with enamel and sapphire and a white gold case. This piece is designed for men. The round case is 44mm in diameter, 14.8mm thick and waterproof up to 5 bar (approximately 50 m water depth). The transparent case back allows to admire the movement.
The watch's functions are provided by a hand-wound 1898 JCP MD mechanical movement which has a power reserve of 72 hours and indicators for hours, minutes and seconds (off-centered). The calendar indicates the date. As regulating organ, the caliber has a tourbillon which causes the balance wheel and the escapement to rotate slowly. In the days of pocket watches, the tourbillon increased the accuracy of the watch by preventing the minute components from working with or against the gravity for a prolonged period of time. Today, the tourbillon mostly serves an aethetic and emotional purpose and is a testament of the manufacturer's watchmaking abilities.
The piece is fitted with a black alligator leather strap with a white gold folding clasp.
