Ingenieur Constant Force Tourbillon Red Gold and Black Ceramic by IWC
The "Ingenieur Constant Force Tourbillon Red Gold and Black Ceramic" (iw590002) is a member of IWC's "Ingenieur" watch family. It features a black dial and is encased in a red gold and black ceramic case. This timepiece was designed for men. The round case is 46mm in diameter, 14mm thick and waterproofed up to 12 bar (approximately 120 m water depth). The transparent case back allows to admire the movement.
The hand-wound mechanical movement is providing a power reserve of 96 hours and has indicators for hours, minutes and seconds (off-centered). The movement displays the moon phase. As regulating organ, the caliber makes use of a tourbillon which causes the balance wheel and the escapement to rotate slowly. In the days of pocket watches, the tourbillon increased the accuracy of the watch by preventing the minute components from working in the same orientation for a prolonged period of time. Today, the complication mostly serves an aethetic and emotional purpose and is a testament of the manufacturer's watchmaking abilities. Other features of the caliber: countdown display showing phases until next full moon.
The case is fitted with a black rubber strap with a platinum pin buckle.
