Emperador XL Flying Tourbillon Elephants Enamel Miniature Painting Full Pavé Pink Gold by Piaget
The "Emperador XL Flying Tourbillon Elephants Enamel Miniature Painting Full Pavé Pink Gold" (ref. g0a38587) is part of Piaget's "Art & Excellence" collection. Production of the watch is limited to 8 pieces. It features a dial in elephants in miniature enamel painting with gold and silver leafs under transparent enamel on pink gold and is encased in a pink gold set with baguette-cut diamonds case. This piece is suitable for men. The rectangular case is 46mm wide, 36mm long and waterproofed up to approximately 30 meters water depth (3 bar). The transparent case back allows to admire the movement.
The watch's functions are provided by a hand-wound Piaget 600P mechanical movement running with a power reserve of 40 hours and displays for hours, minutes and seconds (off-centered). As regulating organ, the caliber relies on a tourbillon which causes the balance wheel and the escapement to rotate slowly. In the days of pocket watches, the tourbillon increased the accuracy of the watch by preventing the minute components from working with or against the gravity for a prolonged period of time. Today, the tourbillon mostly serves an aethetic and emotional purpose and is a testament of the manufacturer's watchmaking abilities.
The case comes on a brown alligator leather strap with a pink gold with diamonds pin buckle.
