Chapter One Transparence Titanium by Maîtres du Temps
The "Chapter One Transparence Titanium" is is from Maîtres du Temps's "Chapter One" range of watches. This watch is limited to 11 pieces. It features a sapphire dial and a titanium case. This piece is designed for men. The round case has a width of 62.6mm, a length of 45.9mm and a thickness of 18mm. The transparent case back offers a view of the movement.
The watch is based on a hand-wound Maîtres du Temps SHC02.1 mechanical movement offering a power reserve of 60 hours and displays for hours, minutes and seconds (off-centered). With the display for the time in a second time zone, the user can keep track of local and home time while travelling. The caliber offers the useful chronograph (commonly known as a "stopwatch") function to measure the duration of an event. The measured duration can be read with an indicator for the seconds. The calendar shows day of the week, date and moon phase. As regulating organ, the movement makes use of a tourbillon which causes the balance wheel and the escapement to rotate slowly. In the days of pocket watches, the tourbillon increased the accuracy of the watch by preventing the minute components from working in the same orientation for a prolonged period of time. Today, the complication mostly serves an aethetic and emotional purpose and is a testament of the manufacturer's watchmaking abilities. Other features of the piece: moon phases on roller.
The case is carried on a black alligator leather strap with a white gold folding clasp.
