Chapter One Round Red Gold by Maîtres du Temps
The "Chapter One Round Red Gold" is part of Maîtres du Temps's "Chapter One" collection. It features a black dial and is encased in a red gold case. This watch is a gentlemen's watch. The round case is 62mm wide, 59mm long and 22mm thick. The transparent case back makes it possible to watch the movement.
The watch is based on a hand-wound Maîtres du Temps SHC02.1 mechanical caliber which has a power reserve of 60 hours and indicators for hours, minutes and seconds (off-centered). With the display for the time in a second time zone, the user can keep track of local and home time while being away from home. The caliber offers the useful chronograph (commonly known as a "stopwatch") function to measure the duration of an event. The measured duration can be read with an indicator for the seconds. The watch has indicators for day of the week, date and moon phase. As regulating organ, the caliber has a tourbillon which causes the balance wheel and the escapement to rotate slowly. In the days of pocket watches, the tourbillon increased the accuracy of the watch by preventing the minute components from working with or against the gravity for a prolonged period of time. Today, the tourbillon mostly serves an aethetic and emotional purpose and is a testament of the manufacturer's watchmaking abilities. Other features of the piece: moon phases on roller.
The case is fitted with a black alligator leather strap with a red gold folding clasp.
