With its hinged back the “1815” is a stunning beautiful hand wound wristwatch. Its owner may either enjoy the engraving of the famous Frauenkirche in Dresden or the exceptional A. Lange & Söhne Calibre L051.1 with 55 hours of power reserve. The engraving is done individually by hand, by the engravers of A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte.
The 38,5 mm / 8,8 mm “1815” are sold either in pink or in white gold in a series of 2 x 10 watches for 29.900 Euro including 19 % VAT each.

Good news from Geneva! The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie continues to grow, while the number of exhibitors at Baselworld has been dramatically declining. The central aisles of the SIHH in Geneva are extended for the arrival of Hermès, while a bigger Carré des Horlogers makes room for DeWitt, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud and Romain Gauthier.
The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar, presented in January 2013 at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) for the first time, was and is a remarkable timekeeping instrument. It was the ideal starting point for a limited 20-watch “Handwerkskunst” (= craftsmanship) edition. It is the sixth A. Lange & Söhne model with the “Handwerkskunst” attribute that stands for the particularly artistic decoration of the movement, dial and case.
The confronted the finishers, engravers and enamel artists in Glashütte / Saxony / Germany with an exciting challenge: to raise the decorative opulence for which the manufactory is known to the next level with rare and in some cases revived techniques as well as innovative ideas.
The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst is limited to 20 pieces and will be sold for 290.000 Euro including 19 % VAT each.
To honour Walter Lange, who passed away in January 2017, Saxon manufacturer A.Lange & Söhne will bring three gold versions of the A. Lange & Söhne ‘1815 Homage to Walter Lange’ to the markets.
145 watches in white gold, 90 in pink gold and 27 in yellow gold.
And there is one in steel! The 1815 ‘Homage to Walter Lange’ with a black enamel dial and a steel case will be produced only once. This makes it as unique as the man whose name it bears.
The 1815 ‘Homage to Walter Lange’ steel version with a black enamel dial will be auctioned off for a charitable purpose in 2018. Walter Lange, always noted for his philanthropy, would have approved.
