Watch Art

Patek Philippe‘s “Watch Art” Grand Exhibition is taking place in Milan, Italy, at the Palazzo delle Scintille from October 2 until October 18th, 2026 with more than 500 pieces on display.

In the historic CityOval building, formerly Palazzo delle Scintille, located at Piazza Sei Febbraio, Patek Philippe "celebrates its watchmaking tradition and offers an immersive experience into its world and history" (from October 2nd to 18th, 2026, including weekends).

In addition, the watchmaker is paying tribute to host country Italy by unveiling seven special editions, one of them being the 250-piece limited edition of the Aquanaut in a 40.8-mm steel case (Ref. 5167A-014) shown below, retailing for CHF 35,000.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A-014

The watch is powered by the self-winding 26-330 S C caliber, visible through the sapphire crystal case-back bearing the inscription “Patek Philippe Milano 2026.”

Even more exclusive is the 5978P-010 Grand Complication: For the 5978P-010, Patek combined for the first time its manually wound chronograph movement with an instantaneous perpetual calendar, resulting in the new 500-component CH 29-535 PS QI caliber.

The new caliber CH 29-535 PS QI combines an instantaneous chronograph with an instantaneous perpetual calendar. Its energy-management mechanisms enable the precise and simultaneous synchronization of all displays.

The mechanical movement is housed in a 42-mm platinum case and features a sunburst navy blue dial with a textured center. It is fitted with a matching composite strap with fabric pattern. This 120-piece limited edition retails for CHF 270,000.

Rare Handcrafts

There are also 25 Rare Handcrafts pieces showcasing various métiers d’art dedicated to Italianità:

Patek Philippe Calatrava "Arrival in Como" 5177R-011

One such example is this 38-mm Calatrava, a limited edition of six watches in rose gold. The dial depicts “the arrival of the car that symbolizes the dolce vita in the enchanted setting of Lake Como, bordered with brightly colored houses.” To trace all the contours of the houses’ windows and the Cinquecento’s bodywork in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel the enameller laid down about 60 cm of gold wire (~0.39 g). Patek Philippe: “He then brought his picture to life with a palette of transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels in an opulent 40 colors. A further 17 colors of miniature painting on enamel brought out the ripples on the lake’s surface and the slight haze in the sky above the green hills, lending the scene a sense of depth. Each enameled plate called for about 12 firings at a temperature of 830°C.” This watch is powered by the caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case back. Retail is CHF 115,000.

One of the many historic pieces on display: Grand complication pocket watch of Henry Graves Jr., Patek Philippe, Geneva - Cal. 20'" Victorin Piguet & Cie from 1919, case from 1921

The exhibition is open to the public, free admission, a reservation is highly recommended: Link
