A Wingman for the Field

By: Roger Ruegger

Based on the Formex Field, the new AirField takes off with a hardened 40-mm titanium case (Grade 2) with a surface hardness of approximately 900 Vickers, a textured dial, sword-shaped hour and minute hands, a triangle flanked by two dots at 12 o’clock and a long seconds hand with an aircraft-shaped counterweight.

The Desert Sand dial features hand-applied blacked-out Super-LumiNova.

The Swiss brand’s new fleet of pilot’s watches consists of four dial variants: Tarmac Grey, Jet Black, Horizon Blue and Desert Sand, all with matching date discs, visible at 6 o’clock.

The solid case back continues the aviation theme with a depiction of a classic radial aircraft engine.

Inside the 150-meter water resistant case is the Swiss Made Sellita SW200-2 Power+ automatic movement with an increased power reserve of 65 hours.

Available on either a elastic nylon/Velcro strap or leather strap, prices start at CHF 830.

The AirField is available with two strap systems: The lightweight nylon/Velcro straps are elastic, water-resistant and washable. The leather straps come with Formex’s lightweight carbon fiber deployant clasp, featuring a patented 7-mm gradual fine-adjustment.

Prices start at CHF 830, with deliveries starting at the end of October 2026.
