In 2021, Tissot first introduced a beefed-up variant of its Seastar dive watch. Fittingly, the “Seastar Professional 2000” came with a 46-mm stainless steel case, 600-meter water resistance and a helium release valve at 9 o’clock.
Five years after, and right in time for this year’s summer season, the Seastar 2000 “has undergone a subtle transformation, incorporating a notch along the edges of the case, resulting in a more compact and sophisticated appearance.” Overall, the Seastar 2000 has adopted some design elements from the 40-mm version, like the lateral notch that is now slightly curved. More importantly, the diameter went from 46 to 44 mm, its price from $1,275 to $1,100 (on bracelet), while maintaining the 600-meter water resistance, ceramic bezel inlay and wave pattern dial from the predecessor.
Tissot is offering the revamped Seastar 2000 in five variants: with blue dial (Ref. T120.907.17.041.00) shown here, with blue dial and PVD-coated case (Ref. T120.907.37.041.00), with black dial (Ref. T120.907.11.051.00), with black dial and PVD-coated case (Ref. T120.907.37.051.00), and for the first time an orange dial variant (Ref. T120.907.17.281.00).
All versions are powered by Swatch Group’s Powermatic 80 (ETA Cal. C07.111) with 80 hours of power reserve (beating at 21,600 vph) and Nivachron balance spring
