The 44-mm TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Gulf in titanium (Ref. CBZ208B.BF0009) is the latest watch from TAG Heuer to honor the blue and orange color scheme of Gulf. The chronograph is limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide, the black dial features Gulf’s blue and orange stripes and three chronograph counters, all framed by a forged carbon tachymeter bezel that recalls the design of brake discs, while the Cal. 16 automatic chronograph movement delivers 48 hours of power reserve.

TAG Heuer and Gulf first launched a special edition Monaco at Baselworld 2018. Gulf, on the other hand, took its first step into motorsport in 1936 by backing the Morman Meteor, an advanced Dusenberg-based record-breaking racer. It broke several records at the Bonneville Salts Flats in Utah, taking both the 24-hour record at a speed and the 48-hours record.

The Gulf-JW Automotive team became a legendary force between 1967 and 1975 with the Ford GT40, Porsche 917 and Mirage competition cars. It was also during this period that the blue and orange racing colors made their first appearance. Ironically, Gulf’s corporate livery of dark blue and orange was considered too muted for race team car colors, so the colors of the recently acquired Wilshire Oil Company were chosen instead.

More importantly, 1971 saw the release of the movie “Le Mans,” starring Steve McQueen, his Monaco chronograph and the ultra-rare Porsche 917K that had both the TAG Heuer shield over Gulf’s logo, representing the first unofficial chapter in the TAG Heuer X Gulf partnership.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Gulf can be ordered online since July 3, 2026.
