A Royal Birthday Party

While the first series of commemorative limited-edition models to celebrate Seiko’s 145th anniversary featured warm gold accents, the second series (available from July 2026) comes with a blue accent inspired by “Seiko Blue”, which became the Japanese brand’s dominant color in the 1960s.

Among the six new releases is a new limited-edition Vanac model with silver-white dial that is accented with a blue index ring that “recalls the bold bezel design of the original Vanac from the 1970s.” – In 1972, King Seiko, mostly known for wristwatches with classic designs, had launched the Vanac, a watch collection with bright colors and multifaceted designs.

Inspired by Tokyo’s endless horizon, the latest version features a 41-mm bezel-less stainless-steel case with the model’s typical angular design and “V” motif on the dial and the seconds hand, the hands and indexes are coated with Lumibrite.

The watch is powered by Seiko’s Caliber 8L45 mechanical movement, which provides a 72-hour power reserve and is regulated to +10 to -5 seconds per day. The caseback is adorned with a blue shield logo, inspired by the King Seiko emblem from the 1960s, the oscillating weight and bridges are finished with a wave pattern, visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
